About this build

This project was a gift for my best friend. I built the two mains from scratch, assembled the crossovers, painted and assembled the main speakers. I designed and built the ported subwoofer enclosure from scratch. I used BassBox Pro to design the sub enclosure. I was very happy with the outcome. A lesson was learned from the sub enclosure design — I sized the port diameter too small and experienced port noise (chuffing) at full output. Port velocity was not something I knew about at the time of this build.
